Lund Chamber Choir

Lund's chamber choir was founded in 1983 by Eva Svanholm Bohlin, who led the choir until 2003. Today, the choir is led by Danny Purtell. Lund's chamber choir is a completely independent choir. The repertoire consists of music from all eras, from Palestrina and other Renaissance masters to modern composers, and the choir sings mainly a cappella. The choir's goal is to make music for everybody in Lund. At the choir’s heart are committed members with a joy for singing, combined with exciting projects.
Upcoming concerts are found on “Framträdanden”.

The conductor

Danny Purtell is a British conductor, singer, and composer who now lives in Sweden. He graduated from the University of York in 2015 with a degree in music. Since then, he has worked with internationally recognized ensembles such as Ars Nova Copenhagen, Theater of Voices, and I Fagiolini. Join the choir

Auditions are mainly held at the beginning of the semester, but you are welcome at any other times as well. Email our conductor Danny Purtell (dirigent@lundchamberchoir.eu) to schedule an audition. Please include the part you sing (soprano, alto, tenor or bass), the year you were born, and your musical background.

The conductor and some choir members will test your vocal range at the audition and ask you to sing your part in a choral piece. We will provide you with the piece before the audition.

Being able to sing from sheet music is an advantage.
